Hi @TerryS1947,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e is producing wet and blurry prints when printing pictures from a magazine to a brochure, here are some possible causes and solutions.
Possible Causes:
- Paper Type Mismatch – If you’re using glossy or brochure paper, but the printer is set to plain paper mode, it may use too much ink.
- Ink Saturation – Excess ink can make prints appear wet and smudged.
- Print Quality Settings – High-quality settings may apply too much ink.
- Ink or Printhead Issues – If the printhead is clogged, it may cause excessive ink dispersion.
- Paper Absorption Issue – Some glossy papers take longer to dry.
Solutions:
Check Paper Settings:
- On your printer settings, ensure that the paper type matches the actual paper you are using.
- If printing on glossy or brochure paper, select the corresponding option in the printer settings.
Reduce Print Quality:
- Lower the print quality setting from "Best" to "Normal" or "Draft" to use less ink.
Allow Drying Time:
- Let the printed page dry before handling it, especially if using glossy paper.
Use HP Ink and Paper:
- Third-party ink or low-quality paper may cause smudging.
Printhead Maintenance:
- Run a printhead cleaning via the HP Smart app or printer menu to ensure no clogged nozzles.
Try Different Paper:
- Use a different type of glossy or brochure paper, preferably HP-recommended paper.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
