We have followed all directions for trying to move the print cartridge.  Nothing has worked.  What should we do next?

@Harvan, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the printer cartridge!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To address the issue of a print cartridge that won't move, try the following troubleshooting steps specific to HP printers:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check for Jammed Cartridges:

  • Open the printer's access door to inspect the cartridge area for any paper or foreign objects that might be obstructing the carriage movement.
  • Remove any obstacles carefully.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a minute to let the printer clear its memory.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the issue persists.

Ensure Correct Installation:

  • Verify that the cartridges are correctly installed in their respective slots. Improper installation can sometimes impede movement.
  • Check for any broken tabs or parts that might affect the cartridge's function.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
