Getting an error message that the ink cartridge is not communicating with the printer.  It's only a few months old and is still within warranty.  Tried cleaning contacts and restarting the printer with no change.  Cannot print anything due to one cartridge being screwed up.  Annoyed, these things are not cheap.

I totally get how frustrating that must be! 😤 It’s really annoying when something as simple as a cartridge issue stops you from printing. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon, but I know it’s just so annoying when tech doesn’t cooperate!

I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:

 

Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
