@rob6661, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer being slow!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Looks like your printer is taking its sweet time—maybe it enjoys dramatic suspense! 😆 But don’t worry, let’s speed things up and get it back to normal.

Quick Questions to Understand the Issue:

1. Is this happening with all print jobs or just specific documents? (Large files or high-resolution images can slow things down.)
2️. Are you using a wired or wireless connection? (Sometimes Wi-Fi issues can cause delays.)
3️. Have you checked the print settings? (Draft mode is faster, while high-quality printing takes more time.)

4. Also, please provide your printer model!

Meanwhile, try these steps:

🔹 Restart Everything – Power off your printer, computer, and router (if using Wi-Fi). Wait 30 seconds and turn them back on.

🔹 Check the Connection – If you're printing wirelessly, try moving the printer closer to the router or switching to a wired connection.

🔹 Adjust Print Settings

  • Open Devices & Printers → Right-click your HP printer → Select Printing Preferences.
  • Try setting print quality to Draft or Normal instead of Best.
  • If duplex printing (double-sided) is enabled, try single-sided to see if that helps.

🔹 Update Printer Drivers – Outdated drivers can cause lag. You can update them via HP Support Assistant or from HP website.

Let me know what you find after trying these steps, and we’ll take it from there! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
