Hi @Ann258,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy 6255 printer isn't printing clearly despite having full ink levels, it could be due to several reasons such as clogged printheads, incorrect print settings, or software issues.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check Print Settings:

  • Ensure that the print quality is set to high or best in your printer settings.
  • Verify that the correct paper type is selected.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Use the printer's built-in printhead cleaning tool.
  • On the printer control panel, navigate to the 'Setup' menu.
  • Select 'Tools' or 'Printer Maintenance'.
  • Choose 'Clean Printhead' and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Perform multiple cleanings if necessary.

Align the Printhead:

  • Aligning the printhead can sometimes resolve print quality issues.
  • Go to the 'Setup' menu on the printer control panel.
  • Select 'Tools' or 'Printer Maintenance'.
  • Choose 'Align Printhead' and follow the prompts.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and seated.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are secure.
  • Clean the contacts on the ink cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.

Print a Diagnostic Report:

  • Print a diagnostic report to check for any specific issues.
  • From the printer control panel, navigate to the 'Setup' menu.
  • Select 'Reports' or 'Printer Maintenance'.
  • Choose 'Print Quality Report' and examine the printout for any abnormalities.

Update Firmware and Software: Update the firmware on an HP printer User manual

  • Ensure that the printer firmware is up to date.
  • Download and install any available updates from the HP Support website.
  • Update the printer driver on your computer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
