Hi @JanisB99,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Ink Cartridge:
- Ensure that the black ink cartridge is installed correctly and has sufficient ink.
- If the cartridge is low or empty, consider replacing it.
Reinstall the Ink Cartridge:
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove the black ink cartridge and then reinsert it, ensuring it's securely in place.
Printer Preferences and Settings:
- Go to your “Printer Preferences” to ensure you are using the correct settings.
- Make sure that your printer is set to print in black and white, as per your preference of using only the black cartridge.
Printer Software Update:
- Check if there are any pending updates for your printer's software or firmware.
- You can do this by visiting the HP Support website and searching for updates for your model.
Run a Print Head Cleaning:
- Run the print head cleaning utility from the printer control panel or via the HP Smart App.
- This can help to clear any clogs or blockages within the print head that may be causing the issue.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
Perform a Test Print:
- After following the above steps, try printing a test page to see if the issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
