Operating System: Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

Hi, I have an older HP Deskjet 1010 printer.  I recently bought a new MacBook.  I rarely use my printer so I re-wet the two ink cartridges until they produced solid lines on a wet paper towel.  When I print the printer loads and ejects the paper and makes the usual printing sounds but the ejected paper is completely blank. Any ideas?

Replace ink cartridges. Leaving an ink mark on a wet towel doesn't mean it will leave ink on paper.
