Hi @MbP101,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are receiving an error message after replacing all ink cartridges in your printer, it may be due to several reasons such as incorrect installation, compatibility issues, or printer maintenance problems. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

Turn Off and Unplug the Printer:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Remove and Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Open the printer's cartridge access door.
  • Remove each ink cartridge and carefully reinstall them, ensuring they click securely into place.

Check for Protective Strips:

  • Ensure any protective strips or covers on the new cartridges have been removed.

2. Clean Cartridge Contacts

Power Off and Unplug:

  • Turn off and unplug the printer.

Remove Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door and remove the ink cartridges.

Clean Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the metal contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.

3. Check for Compatibility

Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are compatible with your specific printer model. Refer to the printer manual or the manufacturer's website for the correct cartridge model numbers.

Use Genuine Cartridges:

  • Make sure you are using genuine ink cartridges from the printer manufacturer, as third-party cartridges can sometimes cause errors.

4. Reset the Printer

  1. Power Cycle:
    • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

5. Run a Printer Diagnostic

Access Printer Tools:

  • Most printers have a built-in diagnostic tool or maintenance menu. Refer to your printer's manual to access and run a diagnostic.

Follow Instructions:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any issues detected by the tool.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit the HP website and check for firmware updates for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to download and install any available firmware updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
