Hi @phil516175,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating when you encounter issues with your printer, especially when you're already enrolled in HP Instant Ink. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

Check Instant Ink Account Status:

  • Ensure that your HP Instant Ink account is active and that the printer is correctly registered. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account online to verify the status.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8024 printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.

Restart Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a minute. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear temporary glitches.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them, making sure they click into place.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset on your printer. Consult the printer manual for instructions on how to reset your specific model. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings, so you may need to set up the printer again.

Check for Errors on the Printer Screen:

  • Look for any error messages or prompts on the printer screen. This might give you more information about the issue.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software on your computer and reinstall it. Make sure to download the latest drivers and software from the official HP website.

Verify Internet Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. Check the Wi-Fi settings on your printer and make sure it's connected to the correct network.

Update HP Smart App:

  • If you're using the HP Smart app, make sure it's updated to the latest version. Sometimes, compatibility issues can be resolved with app updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
