@adriana2025, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a print issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer won’t print in color, even after changing the cartridges. Let’s go through a few steps to get this sorted out.

🛠 Troubleshooting Steps:

Check Printer Settings – Sometimes, the printer is set to "Print in Grayscale" or "Black & White Only" mode. You can check this in:

  • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, select Printing Preferences, and look under the Paper/Quality tab.
  • Mac: Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and check under Options & Supplies.

Enable Color Printing in the Printer Driver – If the driver has disabled color, try:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the HP printer driver from the HP Support website.
  • Updating the driver through Device Manager (on Windows) or Software Update (on Mac).

Check Cartridge Installation – Even though you’ve replaced the cartridges, double-check that:

  • They are genuine HP cartridges (third-party ones can sometimes cause issues).
  • There’s no leftover protective tape on the new cartridges.
  • The color cartridge is seated properly.

Run a Printhead Cleaning – If the printhead is clogged, the printer may not print in color. You can run a cleaning cycle from the printer’s Maintenance or Tools menu.

If these steps don’t fix it, could you share your HP printer model? That way, I can provide more specific guidance tailored to your printer. 😊

Looking forward to your response!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
