@GPW-2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "Printhead Appears to be Missing, Not Detected, or Incorrectly Installed" Error!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
To resolve the error message indicating that the printhead is missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed, you can try the following solutions in order:
Solution 1: Reinstall the Printhead and Cartridges
Power on the Product: Ensure the printer is turned on.
Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Lift it from the front center until it locks into place, prompting the print carriage to move to the center.
Remove All Ink Cartridges: Place them on a piece of paper with ink openings pointing up. To remove, push in the tab on each cartridge and pull it out.
Lift the Latch Handle on the Print Carriage: Lift until it stops, and then remove the printhead by lifting it up.
Clean the Printhead:
- Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened slightly to wipe the electrical contacts from bottom to top. Avoid touching nozzle areas.
- Wipe any debris from the edge between nozzles and contacts.
- Clean the plastic ramps on the sides of the nozzles, wiping away from the nozzles.
Reinsert the Printhead: Ensure the latch handle is raised, insert the printhead, and then carefully lower the latch handle before reinstalling the ink cartridges.
Reinsert the Ink Cartridges: Slide each cartridge into its slot using the color guides until it clicks into place.
Close the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Ensure it is securely closed.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
