HP employees are saying you can cancel ink sucscription and use your own ink.  After working with HP i was told once you are enrolled there is no way to use anything but HP Ink as updates are made to your printer.  I was on the phone for a couple of hours with an engineer who finally said and confirmed by the subscripion group there is no way out of using HP ink thru the program.

What is the truth?  I dont want to be using your ink program.  If this wasnt a fairly new printer i would just go out and buy another brand, but instead i am stuck with this program.

what needs to be done to not be stuck with the subscription program.

I would like to hear from soemone who can tell me what to do

You can cancel out of the instant ink program (close contract),

If you do that you must  purchase genuine hp cartridges for the printer to work. It will no longer use the instant ink cartridges.

Can be refilled or refurbished but the cartridge must have the HP chip circuitry and not be labeled "instant ink"

This is my understanding of the problem.
