Hi @Rubber6
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 6020e is refusing to print after installing new cartridges. Since this is a common issue, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to resolve it.
Steps to Fix HP ENVY 6020e Not Printing After Cartridge Installation.
1. Verify Cartridge Installation
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.
- If using non-HP cartridges, consider switching to genuine HP cartridges, as some printers may reject third-party ink.
2. Clean Printhead Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove the cartridges and gently clean the electrical contacts on the printhead using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Let the contacts dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.
3. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- Run the cleaning cycle twice to clear any clogged nozzles.
5. Check for Firmware Updates
- Visit HP’s official troubleshooting page here and download the latest firmware update for your printer.
- Install the update and restart the printer.
6. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
- If ink is missing, the printhead may need manual cleaning.
