HP Recommended

I purchased a HP564 ink cartridge labeled photo and listed as compatible with a photosmart 7520. When I opened the package the configuration was completely incompatible with my printer head. Has the 7520 been updated with a new head? How can I be sure that  the photo black cartridge is the right one for my printer? The new cartridge does not have the bow tie on it.
