HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hello,

I have a 6978 all in one printer that I am using wirelessly with my iMac (OS 11. 6)

I first encountered the 0x6100004a error/issue in January. I went through the troubleshooting steps on the HP site and resolved the issue.

Yesterday, I noticed the paper jam error message was back so I powered off the printer and turned it back on to receive the 0x6100004a error.

I completed the steps here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2836202-2836250-16 but that didn't fix the problem.

I also removed the plug from the printer and the wall  and plugged it back in (after waiting 30 seconds) and I have restarted my computer and modem.

I also tried to download and install the firmware update but got a message that the packet does not include an update for my device.

Any assistance anyone could provide would be appreciated.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document and the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer.
