Hi @Lynelle79

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP DeskJet 2800e is not feeding paper, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Paper Stack

  • Ensure the paper stack is even, with no bent, wrinkled, or torn sheets.
  • Fan the paper stack to separate the sheets and reload it into the input tray.
  • Adjust the paper-width guide snugly against the stack without bending the paper.

2. Inspect for Obstructions

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Check the input tray and paper path for any debris or foreign objects that might block the rollers.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect hard-to-see areas.

3. Clean the Paper Rollers

  • Disconnect the power cord and locate the gray paper feed rollers inside the printer.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
  • Rotate the rollers manually to clean all sides and allow them to dry completely before reconnecting the printer.

4. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • This can help clear any temporary errors.

5. Update Printer Firmware

6. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
