Envy 4500
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I urgently need help with an issue my HP Envy 4500 suddenly developed. About half of the time, it will begin printing several inches past the left margin of the page, cutting off anything that came before it. I had just begun printing out Christmas gifts (calendars with people's pics in them, which I've done for 10+ years) when this began and it's consuming all of my expensive color ink. I've tried printer alignments, running cleaning operations on the brand-new cartridges, changing paper, rebooting the Print Spooler service between prints, unplugging and rebooting the printer, printing from different programs like Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word, cleaning the rollers inside the printer, etc., but the issue won't resolve. Leaving all of these variables & printer settings constant between prints leads to unpredictable results: sometimes the pages print correctly, sometimes not.  I've got a limited ink supply and a couple days before Christmas to get this resolved. Thanks in advance for any help.

@TheDok, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

To assist you better,

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
  • Check the print settings on the app you use to print.

Make sure the papers are loaded correctly. Refer to - Loading Paper and Envelopes for HP ENVY 4500

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
