I would like to be able to print onto paper or card that is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. The printer prints on that size fine, but the paper will not feed out of the printer after printing. I have tried setting the paper size at 4.25 x 11 inches and adding several returns down the page before printing as well, to no avail.

Hi @StampinSue ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing issues with the paper feeding properly after printing on your HP Envy 5055, especially with smaller paper sizes like 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Check Paper Size and Type Settings:
- Make sure that the paper size and type settings in both the printer and the print driver match the size and type of the paper you are using. Set it to 4.25 x 5.5 inches in both places.
Adjust Paper Guides:
- Ensure that the paper guides in the input tray are adjusted correctly to fit the smaller paper size. Improperly adjusted guides can lead to feeding issues.
Use the Correct Paper Type:
- Ensure that you are using paper or cardstock that is within the supported specifications for your printer. Using paper that is too thick or too thin may cause feeding problems.
Clean the Rollers:
- Over time, paper dust and debris can accumulate on the rollers, leading to feeding issues. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of water.
Update Firmware and Drivers:
- Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest firmware and drivers for your specific printer model.
Use the Manual Feed Slot (if available):
- Some printers have a manual feed slot that allows you to feed one sheet at a time. If your printer has this feature, try using it for smaller paper sizes.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Even if the paper is not jammed, sometimes a small piece of paper or debris can be causing the issue. Check for any obstructions in the paper path.
Adjust Print Settings:
- In the print settings, try adjusting the margins and ensuring that the content is well within the printable area. Sometimes, content too close to the edge can cause feeding problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
