Additional Blank page and papier jam

A new thing is happening : each time I send a page to print, the Laserjet 3030 add a blank page even if the file contains only 1 page. I am sure I have check the right format (Letter). The second page often jam in the printer.

The software used does not matter : Acrobat, Coreldraw, Libre Office Writer, etc... It's happening with PCL5 or Postsript.

I tried updating the driver, clearing the spool file, resetting to original settings...

Please, help me !

This behaviour is often caused by a problem in the feed system and a second page is grabbed and fed. Listen closely when you press print, you should hear the pickup roller only rotate once to feed a page. If you hear the noise multiple times one of two things is happening:

1. the pickup solenoid is sticking open and allowing the pickup roller to keep rotating

2. The pickup roller is worn and the printer has to rotate the pickup roller a couple of times to get the page fed and when it does it grabs a second page because the separation pad is worn as well. the pickup roller should be clean, a light grey color and have little finger print like ridges on it. If the roller looks dirty or smooth that is the issue and you will need to replace the roller.

Based on the age of the machine either or both of the above is the problem

Thank you for the fast response... But I cleaned the pick you roller without success. No multiple charging sounds.

I should have seen before an error message :

 Format papier inattendu : surprising or unattended paper format (my translation from French).

Is this message important ?

A paper format error usually indicates that the paper size set for the tray through the control panel of the printer is different than the actual loaded paper size. Make sure if you are using letter that the settings for the tray are letter.
