After yet another **bleep** Microsoft update, my printer stopped printing in colour and I now have to manually turn over the paper and feed in to print on the reverse side. I've had this happen several times - each time I have to dump off the printer software and download it again and usually all is ok.   Not this time however - colour printing is fine - when I go to tools to change the double sided printing to automatic, it wont let me.  It says manual feed and it is greyed out so I can't change it. Help please as I find this very frustrating.  Thanks.

Check the actual installed driver. The behavior you are describing is consistent with what happens when Windows replaces the actual HP driver with a Microsoft driver. It is also possible that the driver failed to detect the presence of a duplex module. You can check like this: On your PC, go to control panel>devices and printers and right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the device settings tab in the next window and scroll down until you see "Duplex Unit" and make sure it shows as installed.
