HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e All-in-One Printer

Uh oh HP - we have a problem.Uh oh HP - we have a problem.(Operating system is Mac Ventura by the way, but that didn't exist in the options when creating this ticket).

I came into office this morning to find the screen on the printer was blue and displaying 83C0000B

Read a few advice notes suggesting removing power for >1 minute - not successful.

Spoke to support who said hold down power button while applying power - not successful.

They have had to escalate this so I despite the device still being in warranty there is no sign of a swift resolution.

Having read around a bit this seems to be some automatic update which has somehow crippled the machine.

I never asked for this so am dismayed that HP can just get in and remotely tamper with the firmware.

Their rationale is that is that it prevents "vulnerabilities" - well all I can say is this is a massive OWN GOAL and I will definitely replace it with something else (Canon?!) if I have to replace it (which is looking like it might have to happen in the next 72 hours).
