Product: HP smart tank 5101
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
I have an HP Smart Tank 5010 printer. The rear paper guide just pulled out and I can not seem to get it back into the the channels. Does anyone know the trick to reseat it or can someone send a picture of what a properly seated guide looks like? I cant seem to find one online.

Hi @jonzy2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble reseating the rear paper tray paper guide on your HP Smart Tank 5101, here are some steps you can try.
- Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the paper guide or preventing it from sliding into place properly.
- Proper Alignment: Make sure you're aligning the paper guide correctly with the slots or tracks provided for it. It should slide smoothly into place without any force.
- Inspect for Damage: Examine the paper guide for any signs of damage or deformities that could be preventing it from fitting correctly. If it's damaged, you may need to replace it.
- Clean the Area: Sometimes dust, paper fibers, or debris can accumulate around the paper guide, hindering its movement. Clean the area thoroughly and try reseating the paper guide again.
- Refer to the Manual: If you're still having trouble, consult the user manual or documentation provided with your printer for specific instructions on how to reseat the paper guide properly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
