I am getting an error that says my ink carriage cannot move. I JUST GOT THIS PRINTER. It has been working fine for the last few days, and then this. I have unplugged it and moved the carriage around. There is no paper or anything jamming it. The carriage moves freely from side-to-side. I unplugged it, moved it to the right side, plugged it back in, got the error on my screen, opened the carrier cover, and it had moved back to the left side. THERE IS NOTHING OBSTRUCTING THE CARRIAGE FROM MOVING. I just keep getting this error whenever I power on my printer. I have turned it off and back on, unplugged the cords, moved the carriage around myself, and nothing is resolving this issue.

Hi @kcgurley,

If you have already performed the steps from the document 'Carriage Jam' or 'E3' Error Displays and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!
