Product: HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer

When I needed to change an ink cartridge I had to force the access door open!  After changing the  cartridge I was unable to print my document.  Instead of the customary purplish light, I saw a stationary white light.  Following cues on help pages, I uninstalled the printer with the intention of reinstalling in hopes that would get the glitch fixed.  I cannot get the printer reinstalled.  Maybe that doesn't even matter if the access door is not going to work.  I bought this printer a year ago and have printed fewer than 100 pages. Can anyone suggest a remedy?  I don't like the thought of having to scrap a piece of equipment a year after purchase.
