Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello everyone,

 

Iight now my printer is always feeding from tray 2

I would like to set up the printer to always first feed from tray 1, and if tray 1 is empty the printer should feed from tray 2.

 

For both printing from the computer and copying papers on the printer.

 

I could not find an option in the printer setup fro that.

Could you please help?

This is done as the MP tray is not designed for the same feeding volume as tray 2, it is designed as a convenience tray not for full time service.  If you want to do this the easiest method would be to set the default preferences on the print driver to feed from tray 1. You should also be able to create a copy shortcut that pulls from tray 1.
