Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

New (refurbished) printer (product noted above) when initially installed I ran the test print page. A message said Paper Jam Tray 2. I thoroughly checked all outlets...no paper jam. I ran the test several times...same result. restarted both computer and printer...same problem. I don't think it's actually picking the paper up and feeding it anywhere. Starting to think it's not a hardware issue but a mechanical issue. Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi,

Please review below support document to ensure you cover any paper feed are to verify and clean:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-color-laserjet-pro-m280-m281-multifunction-printer-series/14...

If the same results are given, that may indicate a mechanism hardware problem indeed:

If this is an HP Certified Refurbished printer you may contact HP Support, else please check with the seller:
