Envy 7830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Envy 7830, which is now just out of warranty (by about 3 months), has decided that is does not want to pick up the original document in the Document feeder tray. I have check to ensure I have the latest software and run the scan doctor. No faults found.

I also get the same error message 'The paperfeeder was not able to pick upthe original document' when using the fax mode.

I feels like the drive motor for the paper feed is not working.

If the drive motor has failed, there is no solution we can offer except to have the printer serviced.

That said, perhaps the printer just needs a good cleaning.

The following document includes much the same information.   It does a good job describing how to (and where to) clean the printer, including the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) assembly.

Tried cleaning that didn't work. I was wondering if there are interlocks on the ADF that might not be making as they should.

I do not know what this means though I suspect it is a question about whether the mechanical parts are working as expected.  Yes, there could be parts that are not working as needed.   If the mechanics are broken, I do not have a solution except to service or replace the printer.
