HP Deskjet 2549 All-in-One Printer

I was printing a large amount of pages (double sided) and I ran out of paper. After adding more paper, I saw that the que was now gone. I have only about half of my papers printet on the first side at the moment. How do I continue printing where it left off? Do I have to restart the whole printing?

I would appreciate any help, thank you in advance!

Hi @AHelin,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 2549 All-in-One Printer has stopped printing double-sided (duplex) documents, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve it.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Open the document you want to print and go to the print settings.
  • Ensure that you have selected double-sided printing. Look for an option like "Duplex Printing" or "Two-Sided Printing" in the print settings.

Driver Update:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues.
  • Visit the HP website and download the latest driver for your printer model.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Paper jams can sometimes interfere with double-sided printing. Check for any paper jams in the printer and remove any stuck paper.

Paper Type and Size:

  • Make sure you are using the correct paper type and size for double-sided printing. Some printers may require specific paper settings for duplex printing to work correctly.

Printer Firmware Update:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve printing problems.

Printer Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, check the settings to ensure that double-sided printing is enabled. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to do this.

Reset Printer Preferences:

  • Sometimes, resetting printer preferences can help resolve printing issues. You can usually find this option in your computer's printer settings.

Inspect Printer Hardware:

  • Check for any physical issues with the printer, such as paper sensor problems or worn-out rollers. If you find any problems, consider contacting HP support or a professional technician for assistance.

Test with Different Documents:

  • Try printing different documents to see if the issue is specific to one file or application.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that there are no conflicts with other software or drivers on your computer that might be affecting the printing process.

Reinstall Printer:

  • As a last resort, you can try uninstalling the printer from your computer and then reinstalling it using the latest drivers from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
