After my printer jam (e3) we removed the paper inside and it started banging. I'm curious if the encoder strip misplaced after we removed the paper or it dirty. I hope my question be answer.

Hi@Xapml,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Printer Jam E3 error with the HP Printer.

Reset the printer

  1. If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  4. Wait 60 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
  7. If issue persists then click on this link to fix the issue. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2040935-1816767-16
