Hi @Vann3,

Ah, that makes sense. Glossy or specialty papers like photo stickers can sometimes confuse the paper sensor and trigger an E4 “No Paper” error, even if the tray has regular paper. Let’s go step by step to fix this:

Remove Any Specialty Paper

Take out the glossy/photo sticker sheets from the input tray.

Make sure only standard paper is loaded in the tray.

Inspect Paper Path

Check the paper feed area for any residual adhesive, scraps, or dust left by the sticker sheets.

Clean gently with a soft, lint-free cloth if needed.

Check Rollers

Even if you cleaned before, rollers may have sticky residue from glossy/sticker sheets.

Use a slightly damp cloth (water only) to wipe the rollers and let them dry completely.

Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer, unplug it for 2–3 minutes, then plug it back in and power it on.

This helps the sensor reset after removing any problematic sheets.

Test With Standard Paper

Load only standard printer paper and try printing a test page.

Avoid glossy or sticker sheets until the printer is confirmed to work normally.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Vann3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your printer is showing an E4 error even after troubleshooting, cleaning rollers, and multiple restarts. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Paper Path Thoroughly

Make sure there’s no small piece of paper, dust, or debris stuck in the paper feed tray or rollers.

Even tiny scraps can trigger an E4 “no paper” error.

Inspect Paper Tray and Rollers

Ensure the paper tray is fully inserted and the paper guides are correctly aligned.

Check that the rollers are clean and free from any residue or bent edges.

Check Paper Type and Size

Only use supported paper types and sizes recommended for your printer.

Avoid overly thick, glossy, or folded paper, which can sometimes trigger the error.

Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer, unplug it for 1–2 minutes, then plug it back in and power it on.

Check for Mechanical Obstructions

Look inside for any foreign objects like staples, clips, or packaging materials that may have been left during setup.

I hope this helps.
