HP LaserJet E87660

@Repairatrooper we would like your opinion on this since my coworker, Stephen Thompson, says you work on these much more than he does.

The bottom page is a copy, the original is on top. If we scan to USB, the picture looks fine (just like the original), but when printed, the colors are overlapped. We are feeding long edge first.

The next picture is a print, fed long edge first, and the interesting thing about this print is that the yellow color is not in sync with the rest of the page.

Is your firmware up to date? You should be using FS5.6.0.2

Are you having issues with regular printing or just prints of scanned items?

If a firmware update does not resolve the issue, your next step would be to perform either a partial clean or disk format from the pre-boot menu. The last print you post looks like a feeding or timing issue as the print is shifted dramatically to the top of the page.

If you look at the print that looks like a feed/timing issue the yellow is in the correct place on the page, everything else is shifted.

I initially thought feed timing, but having one color in the correct place doesn't make sense.

The Firmware has been updated, but I don't think either a partial clean or Format was done.

HP Support suggested replacing the Laser/Scanner, but that seems unlikely to be the cause.

I formatted the disk and installed firmware version 5.6.0.2. All the example pages I have posted have been made after the HD was formatted and the new firmware was installed. I also ran some calibration pages but the issue persists.

I suggest that you try to find a service manual online, they are out there, and run some of the diagnostics. I also would like to know if you get the same issue from all trays.  The image troubleshooting does not show any examples like this. This is a odd one. Scanner reliability on the engine on this model has been hit and miss. I have had a couple fail so that advice may not be too bad, however the scanner is expensive. Issues like this are the times you are glad you have an all inclusive contract and can simply engage your supplier to fix.

@Repairatrooper

We have the manuals, we are Service Qualified and have been talking to HP Support.

They have suggested replacing the Laser/Scanner, but in my book you are better than HP Support.

We appreciate your input, Marcello will be working on this more today, I will be available for a few minutes between other tasks if he needs my opinion.
