Envy 5660 printer jams every time I try to print double sided using Wireless connection. Seems OK if plug in.
Using iPhone or MacBook running Sonoma 14.2.1 OS.
Looked for a firmware download but my model no longer supported.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Orson

Hi @OrsonCart,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's frustrating to experience paper jams, especially when trying to print double-sided wirelessly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and address the issue,
Paper Quality and Type:
- Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper as specified in the printer manual.
- Make sure the paper is not damaged, curled, or too old.
Printer Rollers:
- Check the printer rollers for any debris or obstructions. If they are dirty, gently clean them with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of water.
Printer Settings:
- Verify that the printer settings match the paper type and size you are using.
- When printing double-sided, ensure that you have selected the correct option in the print settings on your iPhone or MacBook.
Driver and Software Update:
- Ensure that your printer drivers on your MacBook are up to date. You can usually find the latest drivers on the HP website.
- On the iPhone, since it's a wireless connection, there's not much control over drivers. However, make sure your iOS is updated to the latest version.
Wireless Connection:
- Check the wireless signal strength where the printer is located. A weak signal can sometimes cause communication issues.
- If possible, try moving the printer closer to the wireless router to improve the signal.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off both your printer and the devices you are printing from. Then, turn them back on and try printing again.
Firmware Update:
- Even though you mentioned that your model may no longer be supported, it's worth checking the HP website for any firmware updates or solutions to common issues.
Print in Batches:
- Instead of printing a large document in one go, try printing it in smaller batches. This can reduce the load on the printer and may help prevent jams.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden.
Reinstalling the HP Easy Scan.app seems to have fixed it.
It also tried to reinstall HP Smart.app but got stuck on a questionnaire about intended usage and I was unable to complete that installation as a result. However, existing install of that from May 2023 seems to be sufficient.
Thanks
