Top of the Envy 6052e does not open. It seems stuck about 1/4 inch open. Yellow light on side. Cant open. Have read previous issues and no luck with restarting reseting printer.

You are not helpful at all. I see this issue has shown up in many threads and by now HP should be able to offer a fix. What a waste of time and money. This is a brand new printer. For those who have the same issue - I just used brute force to bypass the software issue that keeps the lid down, and opened it. Then I turned the printer off and on. The error message went away and the printer started working again. Yes, you can pay me for doing your job, HP. I do not recommend this cheap printer. Anyone tempted to buy it - dont. It needed new cartridges after 3 weeks of minimal use. Door jammed immediately. What a waste.

Hi @hbh369,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
This looks like a hardware issue.
However, the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers
