HP Recommended

Printer used to work okay but I have never been thrilled with it - have had much better HP's.  Today loaded new ink cartridges received in the mail.  I need ot print documents and am not able to.  I have yellow blinking light, green arrow light and red X lite up.  That means - no paper from what i have read.  There is paper.  I have taken it out, fanned it, added to, removed some from etc.  - the blinking will not clear.

The printer did print an information report when I first booted it up (how do I stop those I don't care to see the report every time I print).  So it did feel once piece of paper through with no issues.  I have been using printers for a long time and never had one with so many issues.  Help!  Please.  Is there a fix for this?
