HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I downloaded a driver for my printer. When I tried to print from my computer via a USB connection, I get a JAM message with instructions to unjam the  Printer. I did find some paper in the printer and removed it. Again when I tried to print form my computer, I got a JAM message. If I disconnect the USB cable from the printer and use the printer to copy a page, it works! NO JAM! When I plug the USB cable into the printer, I get a JAM message!! Other than beating the printer with a mallet, I'm at a loss to what the problem is!

Try to proceed like this:

  1. disable the WiFi and the WLAN
  2. shut down printer via on/off switch
  3. switch off the router
  4. shut down the computer
  5. wait about 60 sec.
  6. switch on the router, wait until the router has completely initialized itself again
  7. connect the computer and the printer with the USB cable
  8. Switch on the printer, wait until the printer has finished its initialization
  9. switch on computer, log in (with admin rights) and wait about 10 sec.

... and now everything's working again?

After completimg steps 1 - 7, I turned on the printer and got a message on  the printer display that said "Paper Jam"!I turned on the PC and tried to print from Word and got a window on the PC that said "Printer Jam". Use a bigger hammer????

If the printer indicates a jam, then there is a small amount of paper left in the printer.
The following tools are required:
1 Flashlight
2 Tweezers
3 Magnifying glass
Then perform these steps here.

Take a close look at all the gears, too!
