- HP 9025 - conflict in choosing cardstock in main tray

When I try to tell HP 9025 that I am using cardstock (Matte) in the main tray I get a conflict software issue.
However, it will allow for the upper for cardstock in the upper tray 2, however, cardstock doesn't grab the paper properly and cuts off the top. I am using the proper gsm cardstock specs. Heck, I even tried HP approved paper.
When I use cardstock in the main tray and the system thinks it is plain paper it works without issue.
Why is there this limitation? The top tray paper doesn't have a guide to hold the paper properly.
There was nothing on the box or instructions that indicated this limitation.
Is there something I am missing?

Welcome to the HP Community.
The answer:
The printer mechanics are designed with two different tray configurations.
Tray 2 is designed to print on plain paper and other supported media (paper) types.
Tray 1 supports plain paper products.

Agreed - I no longer have the box in which the printer was delivered -- I do not recall that the "box information" included details on Tray management.
In addition to using the trays as designed / made:
In those instances where tray management cannot handle an "automatic" source selection, select the Source (Tray) in the application / software you are using to view and submit the job.
In the case of the 9025, for example, load Photo paper in Tray 2 and then select the Source as Tray 2 when the job is configured.
Example - HP Smart - Windows - Simple Photo Print - 4x6 - Border
