I have a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw printer, and have been getting a document feeder jam error message.

There is no jam. I have tried cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol, and doing a hard reset of the printer, and I am still getting the error message. Please advise.

@KatDM, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Original Jam: Clear jam, and then press OK' Displays for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Printe...

Also, try the steps from - ADF does not pick paper or feeds in too many sheets.

If the error persists, check if you are able to bypass the error and access the home screen of the printer so that we can try to reset the printer to its factory settings.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

None of this helped. As I said, I had already tried clearing any potential jam, cleaning the assembly, and doing a hard reset of the printer, which were all the same remedies you suggested. I did try all of them again, and they were again unsuccessful. Please advise.

@KatDM

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
