HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4826 Printer

My printer HP Deskjet Ink Adv Ultra 4826 is showing E4 error in spite of trying all the recommended solutions and tips on support page.

I am unable to figure out the issue. There is no paper jam at all, but printer is still showing E4 error.

Thanks for the suggestion. Even after those steps it was helpless.

Finally, I took it to the service center and got to know that the model 4826 has some internal gear issues.

Hi @ramanacr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4826 Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Update the printer firmware

My printer is in warranty, that's why hp service representatives did not show up for 9 days of reporting it. I even had case ID with multiple escalations which is all waste from a reputed hp.
