Paper feeds through without printing when requested. "HP Print and Scan Doctor" has not helped. Information orange light flashes - start button commences paper feed - then repeats and turns off.

Hi @Ernie19,

I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

1) Are you able to make copies using the printer?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or devices?

Meanwhile, Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have now managed to print, but the fault hasn't disappeared completely. With some patience and adopting your advice, the printer eventually works OK. However, when first turned on, it still does a half feed without anything in the print queue, and the yellow information light winks. Pressing the start button again causes the paper feed to complete. It then seems to print any new document satisfactorily. I will assess the situation when I next need to print.  I'll be in touch again if still in trouble.

Thank you for your reply.
