Hi @gdrury,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 5546 printer is displaying a paper jam error message, but you have checked and confirmed that there is no paper jam, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.

Reset the printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for any small pieces of paper:

  • Sometimes, small pieces of paper may be stuck in the printer. Open the printer access door and inspect the entire paper path for any bits of paper.

Check the paper path:

  • Make sure there are no foreign objects, such as paper clips or debris, in the paper path.

Check the paper tray:

  • Remove the paper from the tray and check for any obstructions or misaligned paper. Also, ensure that the paper guides are adjusted correctly.

Inspect the rollers:

  • Check the rollers for any debris or foreign objects. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of water if necessary.

Update or reinstall the printer driver:

  • Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can sometimes cause issues. Update the printer driver to the latest version from the official HP website or reinstall the driver.

Perform a printer self-test:

  • Print a self-test page to determine if the issue is related to the printer hardware. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a self-test.

Factory reset the printer (if necessary):

  • As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on the printer. However, keep in mind that this will reset all the settings, and you may need to set up the printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
