I have been very happy with my HP laser printer except that it recently started to stop printing and give a message to add paper, even though it has paper. So far, I have been able to restart it by taking the paper tray out and shuffling the paper and pressing the OK button. But it is a nuisance and causes me to worry that this silly fix won't last.

I would check the pickup roller to see if it is dirty or worn. On some models a failure to pick a page will cause this error.
