Hi,

The paper tray on my HP Laserjet 4500 / 4550 is stuck.

It will not open 

Please can someone help or offer a solution.

Not with this model but on other models I have seen this issue when the metal lifting part of the tray gets hung up on something inside the tray cavity. If you can access from the back, you may be able to use something like a long screwdriver to press down that part while someone pulls the printer out.

Thank you for the reply, will give it a go.

From your description it sounds like the separation pad at the front of the tray has been dislodged.
