Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi We have a HP Laserjet Pro 501 running as a networked printer. The pcs are all on Win10 Pro 64 bit.

We have various issues with this printer across numerous clients pc's.

The main issue is that no matter what tray the client and printer  is set to print to it always defaults to tray one and then we have to press "OK" as we do not have paper in tray 1.

Hi,

This is due to incorrect paper settings of the printer.

Please access the EWS page of the printer by typing its IP into your web browser.

To locate its IP, on the printer control panel, press the OK button. Open the Network Setup menu, and then select Show IP
Address to display the IP address or host name.

Open the System taband select Paper Setup.

Set the Default Paper Size: as the used paper (US Letter or A4)

Set the Default Paper Type:as Plain Paper.

For any listed tray select Any Size and Any Type and press Apply to save the changes, then try printing and check for any difference.

Thank You for your reply.

I looked at the settings on the printer and changed a few things and it seems to be back to normal.

We have had the printer a number of years and it just seemed to stop working overnight.

Thanks for you help
