Problem: Hello, I had a problem with HP Laserjet Pro m477fdw. While feeding the paper to ADF unit for copying or scanning, it did not scanned the document straight, there was a slight misalignment.
Solution: I first cleaned all the rollers with alcohol and nice surface cloth (microfiber or straight sponge back). But, it didnt work at first. Then, I rubbed the rubber rollers with my fingers for 5-6 times and then, resetted the device (turn off device and turn on, when black screen comes, just put your finger on right bottow of screen until it says "Permanent strorage init". After that it solved my issue perfectly.
Note#1: This could work with any M series or Laserjet Pro series printers. Just try yourself.
Note#2: Most probably, either the rubbing them with my finger or reseting the device was the key. Just try one by one if you wish. Good luck everyone 🙂

Glad to hear you resolved the issue, I will provide 2 caveats for others reading this
1. Do not use alcohol on the rollers as it will dry out the rubber which will then degrade at an advanced pace. A water dampened microfiber cloth should be all you need. If you are going to use a chemical make sure that it clearly states that it is rubber safe, if it does not say it, do not use it.
2. Finger oils can also break down the surface of rollers and you should never touch the rollers with bare hands.
Most likely that cold reset is what solved your problem as that is one of HP's recommended courses of action.
