HP Office Jet Pro 8620 grinding noise - continue
04-01-2021 12:33 PM

Printer makes a grinding noise several times when printer is turned on and while printing.
I am familiar with warm up noises or when cleaning or aligning heads. This noise is different and clearly abnormal and much louder. It could be gears that are skipping or not meshing properly. I looked for broken gears of pieces of part but did not see anything without disassembling the unit. I performed the steps suggested in the 2018 posting but the noises are still present and as loud. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16
