Similar to a previous query I have a HP Office Jet Pro 9015 and the error message tells me the printer carriage cannot move. Clear paper jam. There is no paper jam. I have turned it on and off, unplugged it, and attempted to move the carriage, which is very stuck. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi @Taff3110 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the print carriage of an HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is stuck and there's no visible paper jam, here are a few steps to try:
Turn Off and Unplug the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Leave it unplugged for a few minutes. This can sometimes reset the printer and release the carriage.
Manually Move the Carriage:
- With the printer unplugged, carefully try to move the carriage back and forth. Be gentle to avoid causing any damage. Sometimes, the carriage can be stuck due to a minor obstruction or misalignment.
Check for Obstructions:
- Look inside the printer for any small pieces of paper, foreign objects, or debris that might be blocking the carriage. Even a small piece of paper can cause issues.
Inspect the Carriage Path:
- Make sure the carriage path is clear and there are no obstructions or issues with the carriage rail. Sometimes dust or debris can cause the carriage to get stuck.
Check the Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not causing any obstruction. Remove and reinstall them to make sure they are seated correctly.
Reset the Printer:
- If the above steps don’t help, you might need to perform a hard reset. Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and then follow the instructions for a hard reset specific to your printer model.
Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Sometimes a firmware update can resolve issues. Check if there is an available firmware update for your printer on HP’s official website.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
