HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e that is reporting a paper jam error. I have followed all the directions to clear a paper jam, but have not found any paper jam anywhere. But when I try to move the ink carriage left and right as the directions specify, the carriage will not move at all- the carriage is stuck at the far right and cannot be slid to the left. This is curious since according to the paper-jam directions it should be movable. I don't know what is really wrong with my printer.
