Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8710. It is showing a Document Feeder Jam error: "The original is jammed in the document feeder. Open the cover, remove and reload the original, and then try again. Touch (camera image) to learn more." I've performed all the suggested remedies, opened every possible opening on the printer and do not see any jammed paper. I can print from my laptop but the error message will not go away. I've tried a Semi-full Reset and it just shuts off and never comes back on. I've unplugged it, waited a minute, plugged back in and restarted. I reinstalled the printer and the error message remains. Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting the original jammed errors, I am glad to assist you.

Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates
