Having a problem with my LaserJet HP2015
It stopped picking up paper from tray 2, I replaced the pickup roller with new OEM roller.
Now it picks up the paper OK
Unfortunately after printing a page it follows it up with a blank page - the 2 pages almost come out together nose to tail.
Everthing works OK from manual feed (Tray 1)

Bad separation pad in tray or a sticking pickup solenoid. Do not discount media. The past pallet of paper we bought had many reams that were not assembled properly and there was adhesive on the edge causing pages to stick together.

Hi @GazaMc,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP LaserJet P2015 is experiencing an issue where it is printing an extra blank page after each print job from Tray 2. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Check Print Settings
- Printer Properties: Go to the printer properties on your computer and check the settings for the paper source. Ensure that the correct tray (Tray 2) is selected and that there are no options selected that could cause additional pages to print.
- Page Setup: Make sure the page setup in the document you're printing does not have extra page breaks or blank pages inserted.
Check for Defective or Incorrectly Installed Parts
- Pickup Roller Installation: Ensure that the new pickup roller is installed correctly. Sometimes, incorrect installation can cause paper feeding issues or printing anomalies.
- Separation Pad: Check if the separation pad (if applicable) is installed correctly and functioning. It prevents multiple sheets from being fed at once.
Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Updates: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve various issues, including printing anomalies.
Perform a Printer Reset
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
Check for Software Issues
- Driver Update: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.
- Different Application: Try printing from a different application to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is software-related.
Inspect the Printer for Internal Issues
- Print Path: Open the printer and check for any obstructions in the print path that might cause extra pages to be printed.
- Service Mode: If you have access to service mode, you can run diagnostic tests to identify any hardware issues.
Check for Paper Type
- Paper Settings: Make sure that the paper type setting in the printer properties matches the paper you are using in Tray 2. Mismatched settings can sometimes lead to printing errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
