Product: HP LaserJet Pro 400 color Printer M451dw
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra
Loud moaning noise when printing. Appears to come from duplex unit / back of machine
For example if a Cleaning Page is printed
- paper feeds quietly
- paper prints side 1 quietly
-printer retrieves paper to duplex unit quietly
-as printer begins printing reverse side of page, it makes a very loud grinding /moaning noise
- when printer has fed perhaps 1/3 of page it goes (quite properly) to a step by step mode
- at this point the grinding continues for a short while and then ceases
- the printer steps the page forwards until printing is complete quietly
